About us
EMORIA was founded by Cemil Can Özkaya, a state-certified educator with around ten years of experience in integration kindergartens, special-needs schools, youth welfare organisations and family counselling.
The beginning goes back further than you'd expect. Already in 2020, during his training, a first, simple version of this game came together in a Berlin kindergarten: a feeling wheel, a few cards, six preschoolers around a table. At the end of the forty minutes, the children were asked whether they'd like to do it again. The answer was a unanimous yes.
Over the years, that afternoon grew into a complete educational system, refined through every further experience in practice, through feedback from professionals, and above all through the children themselves.
Today, EMORIA is a young company with a clear goal: to give children a language for their feelings, and to give the people who work with them every day a tool that truly fits into their daily routine.
About EMORIA
Children learn to count. Children learn to read. Children learn to tie their shoes.
But who teaches them to talk about their feelings?
Emotional education is part of every education programme today. What's often missing in practice is the right tool for it. Educators rarely have the time to develop their own material for every conversation about feelings, and many existing offerings never go beyond a few cards or posters.
EMORIA develops research-based educational tools that address exactly this. Our first product, Yubuu's Feeling Wheel, guides children aged four to ten through a clear process: from first noticing a feeling, through talking about it, to the question of what need actually lies behind it.
At the centre is Yubuu, a curious being with no fixed gender and no fixed origin, born on the small planet Lumora. Yubuu travels through different worlds to understand how differently living beings feel. Yubuu doesn't judge, doesn't hand out correct answers, but asks, wonders and listens. That's exactly what makes it easy for children to open up.
Yubuu's Feeling Wheel is just the beginning. EMORIA is designed as a growing universe, from which more games, materials and stories will emerge over time.
EMORIA is a young company from Berlin that develops educational tools for emotional education.
Our starting point is an observation from daily work with children: most conflicts don't come from bad intentions, but simply because children lack the words to say what's going on inside them. And educators, in their full daily routine, often lack the right material to change exactly that.
Everything created at EMORIA therefore comes from practice, not from a desk. Every component has been tested with children over years, discussed with professionals and revised again and again until it works in real everyday life.
We believe emotional competence should be nurtured just as naturally as language or maths. And that good educational materials should take work off professionals' hands, not add to it.
That's exactly what we're working on.
