✦ For Schools
Social and emotional learning belongs in every classroom, not as an afterthought, but on purpose.
In primary school, children learn more than maths and reading. They also learn to make friends, handle conflict, and take responsibility for themselves and others. But experiencing a feeling and being able to name it are two different things. Yubuu's Feeling Wheel helps teachers and school social workers pick up on exactly these moments, giving children a protected space in which to discover, understand and talk about their inner world of feelings, through play.

What makes Yubuu's Feeling Wheel special?
Primary school children also learn more sustainably when they actively discover, try things out, and talk with one another. Yubuu's Feeling Wheel combines playful learning with building social and emotional skills. Yubuu accompanies this process with curiosity and appreciation. Instead of handing out answers, Yubuu invites children to develop their own thoughts and get to know different perspectives. Children aged seven to ten go through five steps that build on one another: they discover a feeling, talk about it, connect it to everyday situations, and finally recognise which need lies behind it.
A stronger class climate starts with conversations
A good class climate doesn't happen on its own. Children need to learn to listen, understand different perspectives, and handle conflict respectfully. Yubuu's Feeling Wheel creates a safe frame in which exactly these skills can be practised through play. That strengthens not just individual children, the whole class community benefits too. For teachers and school social workers, the game also offers valuable insight into children's inner world of feelings, a foundation that supports daily educational work and informs parent conversations and individual support.

„In every class, everyone feels something different. Let's find out together how we can talk about it."
— Yubuu
Who is the game for?
Does this fit our curriculum, or is it an add-on?
Yubuu's Feeling Wheel doesn't replace curriculum content, it complements it. It fits into class council, substitute lessons or support lessons without needing dedicated teaching time.
Does it work with a whole class, not just small groups?
The game was originally designed for small groups of up to six children. For a whole class, we recommend running several small groups in parallel, or rotating the game through class council sessions.
Can I use it in class council?
Yes. Class council is especially well suited to running individual game phases or full rounds together.
Can I use only some of the materials?
Yes. Depending on time and goals, the Feeling Wheel, the flash cards or the situation cards can also be used independently of one another.
Is it suitable for children with additional support needs?
Yes. Precisely because it works with no time pressure and no right or wrong answers, it's often used in special-needs education and one-on-one support.
Is there scientific evidence for its effectiveness?
The concept builds on recognised research on social and emotional learning, including the Durlak et al. meta-analysis covering over 270,000 children. A dedicated effectiveness study of Yubuu's Feeling Wheel itself is planned as part of the pilot phase starting 2027.
Who covers the cost, are there funding options?
Many schools fund Yubuu's Feeling Wheel through existing materials budgets or educational grants. We're currently reviewing suitable funding programmes for schools.
Do I need training to use the game?
No, the game can be used right away, with no extra training. Anyone who wants can also book an introductory workshop.
Children don't just remember what they learned, they also remember how they felt while learning it.
